Windsor Memorial (formerly Legacy at Memorial) is a 25-floor luxury, high-rise residential tower in the Memorial Park area of Houston. Encompassing more than 3 acres of outdoor space, the property’s many amenities and stunning city views are seamlessly integrated to create a “living space” where residents and visitors can play, relax and access nature. The team’s challenge was to ensure smooth transitions from indoor to outdoor spaces, fostering a sense of connection with the environment.

The project encompassed a site landscape master plan, hardscape and softscape design, lighting and irrigation, and pool and water features. The M2L design team incorporated a Japanese Zen garden theme through form, color and decorative planting materials. The theme was chosen for its ability to create a serene and tranquil environment, perfect for relaxation and meditation. A granite water feature with a winding stream of black river rock welcomes residents and visitors, while black bamboo screens the adjacent parking garage. Decorative lighting completes the effect, including dramatic light columns to accent a unique landscape feature.
