Houston Community College Missouri City Campus Promenade

Houston Community College Southwest, one of six regional colleges in the vast HCC system, opened a new and highly visible location near Missouri City Hall to be able to serve Fort Bend County and the southwest suburbs of Houston with increased enrollments and expanded services. M2L worked with Brave Architects to provide a master plan and landscape architecture for the new campus location, including a student promenade. The project included street and parking lot landscaping with the central student promenade acting as a focal point for future development.

The M2L team used a strong, angular theme throughout the promenade to complement the adjacent student center architectural design and optimize natural variations in site grading. A plaza and terrace connect a pedestrian walkway, enhancing the potential for gatherings and seating capacity. A student plaza adjacent to the academic center building makes a beautiful focal point with shade trees, natural plantings and dramatic lighting.
