Data Foundry Houston 2

New construction and renovation projects for data centers are on the rise thanks to Houston’s thriving business market and increased demand for scalable and sustainable digital infrastructure. Austin, Texas-based Data Foundry provides data center colocation, disaster recovery and managed services for enterprise customers in Austin and Houston. The company’s Houston location, known as Houston 2, is a state-of-the-art, 60-MW, master-planned data center that supports customers with high-performance computing environments and business power, security and continuity solutions.

M2L Associates was the landscape architect for Data Foundry’s new-construction expansion into the Houston market. A site landscape plan leaned into native, low-maintenance plantings to match the sustainability focus of the company and its customers. A coastal prairie theme incorporates native grasses, low-maintenance plantings and wildflower meadows. Given the security requirements for data centers and their customers, all design details respect strict visibility, accessibility and safety needs. M2L’s landscape designs carefully integrate site lighting and security camera systems accordingly. Curvilinear entrance walls frame a vibrant architectural arch, offering protection for the front entrance while meeting all security design requirements.
